異文化研修でインドを学ぶ Discovering India in Cross-Culture Tutorial

6月2日、TEAM NARITAでは3回目となる異文化研修を、「驚異の超大国インドの真実」というテーマで、神戸在住の実業家キラン・S・セティさんを講師に迎え、地区グループ約100名が参加して実施しました。セティさんは、日本で生まれ育ち米国でMBAを取得した、インド系の米国人です。インドというと、カレーやターバンをイメージしてしまいますが、資源が豊富で広大な土地と11億人以上の人口があり、近年、経済成長も目覚しく、注目されています。インドビジネスのこれからと、インド人との付き合い方なども、セティさんの流暢な関西弁の語り口で語られ、「世界最大の資本主義国インド」とのかかわり方について考える、良いきっかけとなりました。

On June 2, TEAM NARITA'S third cross-culture tutorial was held under the theme, "The Truth about India, an Amazing Superpower," with Kobe-resident businessman Kiran S. Sethias lecturer. Some 100 Group employees in the region attended. Sethi is an Indian American born and raised in Japan who earned an MBA in the U.S.A. When talking about India, most people tend to conjure up images of curry and turbans, but there is much more to the country; bountiful resources, vast landmass with a population topping 1.1 billion, and recent economic growth attracting global attention. Sethi spoke in fluent Kansai dialect about future prospects for Indian businesses in Japan and about how to communicate with Indian people. lt was a good opportunity to reflect on our interaction with India, the world's largest capitalist state, and its people.
